Orderly vs Recharge

Both run subscriptions. The difference shows up in billing exceptions, in what the customer can do without emailing support, and on platforms that are not Shopify.

The short version

Recharge is deeply Shopify-native and, after acquiring Skio in April 2026, is the largest platform in the category. Orderly is platform-agnostic with an SFCC cartridge, which matters if your roadmap includes anything beyond Shopify.

Where Recharge wins

On Shopify alone, Recharge is the safer default: a bigger app ecosystem, more agency partners who have shipped it a hundred times, and years of edge cases already found. If you are Shopify-only and staying, that maturity is worth something.

Migration runbook

Five steps, run in parallel, cut over on your release train

01
Export
One CSV or API pull from Recharge. You own this step.
02
Map
To your SKU and locale, not the old vendor's internal ids. We do this.
03
Install
Cartridge on a sandbox, display mirrored to your current layout.
04
Verify
Both systems live in parallel. Compare counts, rendering and schema.
05
Cut over
Your release, your timing. Redirects stay in place.

Bring your Recharge export. We'll map it live.

Thirty minutes on a sandbox with your own data, so the migration is a decision and not a leap.
